Philosophy
This project is based on the philosophy of cultural relativism and pluralistic approach to social integration. It focuses on finding common grounds of harmonious coexistence among peoples of different cultures, ethnicities, races and religions. It is based on my research both as a conventional and applied sociologist. My areas of expertise have been social transformation and minorities in India and immigration and ethnicity in America, highlighting changing family dynamics, parenting and acculturation. It focuses on a two way communication approach of reciprocal acculturation to promote mutual acceptance appreciation and understanding of different cultures, customs and social practices.
In this era of accelerated globalization the old conflicts of cultures, religions and races need to be addressed in a new perspective of dialogue, understanding and coexistence. This project is an attempt to meet this goal with reciprocal trust and respect.
